Dracut, MA - Frank Edward Flint, of Dracut, formerly of Hamilton and Beverly, passed away on December 18, 2018 at the age of 91 years.

Frank was born on March 16, 1927 in Beverly, to parents Frank Edward Flint, Sr. and Grace (Hutchings) Flint. Growing up in Beverly, the son of a shoe manufacturer, he went on to work at United Shoe Machinery Corporation, and later Beringer Company. Frank served in the United States Coast Guard. On return from an artic cruise on the ice breaker Eastwind, he made the local paper for his winning result in the traditional beard growing contest. Frank met his wife of 61 years, Margaret Shea of Cambridge, MA, on the dance floor at Wonderland Ballroom in Revere. Dancing was a lifelong passion for them both, in retirement years that was often in the Merrimack Valley area. While working at “The Shoe” Frank went to night school at Northeastern University to earn a mechanical engineering degree. They raised their four children in Hamilton, MA. Frank was a proud Past Commander of American Legion A. P. Gardner Post 194 in Hamilton. Frank liked to strike-up conversations and make acquaintances in whatever situation he found himself.

Frank spent his final months at the D’Youville Life and Wellness Community in Lowell, and the family is thankful to them for their excellent and attentive care.

Frank was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Barbara Flint (Shea) earlier this year. Frank is survived by his four children, Neal Frank Flint (Winifred Wheelan), Eric Michael Flint, Paula Grace Flint, David Charles Flint, nine grandchildren, Hannah, Gabriella, Noah, Rebecca, Ian, Devin, Rachel, Philip, Andrew, and one great granddaughter, Aleah.
