Chelsea - Chelsea - Florence Marcorelle, 89, died Monday morning September 8, 2025 in the Katzman Family Center for Living in Chelsea after a short illness. Born in Ipswich on January 13, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Beatrice E. (Duguay) Marcorelle.
Florence was a nun, a member of the Sisters of the Order of St. Chretienne in Salem for many years. She taught school in Salem for several years. Later she taught religious education in Peabody at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peabody and at the former St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Danvers. She enjoyed many years of showing her cats in national and international events. Florence will be missed by all of her family.
Florence is survived by her brother Philip B. Marcorelle of Hamilton and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Edward J. Marcorelle, Jr. formerly of Ipswich, and by 2 sisters: Alma M. Quill formerly of Boston and Louise M. Ames formerly of Danvers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday September 12th. at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich, relatives and friends are respectfully invited. There will be no visiting hours.
