Ipswich - Faylene Beard Calabro devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025 at the age of 90. Born in Laurel Hill Florida to Eunice and Barzilla.
A daughter of the South who found her greatest happiness in the red clay of Crestview Florida, swimming at turkey Hen, endless card games with her sisters and childhood friends and surrounded by her nieces and nephews who gathered every summer to share the greatest pleasures life could offer. The meaning of life boiled down to family-BBQ-and a swimming hole.
If not sitting on the top of a manual ice cream maker while everyone took turns at the handle, playing ball with our childhood friends in Ipswich then simply calling her kids home from wherever they may have roamed always with a well-practiced whistle.
If you lived in Ipswich and spent any time with one of her children, you no doubt knew of her laugh and willingness to lead any adventure. Perhaps you found yourself crowded in the back of a station wagon with 18 of your closest friends as you adventured to McDonalds to put a dent in the hamburger supply on the North Shore.
She adored our friends as if they were her own. Never did a family event go by where she did not share her memories of our friends. Her sense of loss when a few died young would never leave, years after she would share stories of the joy that growing up in Ipswich Ma was both for a 19-year mother and her children.
She was tough, larger than life and she always had your back. If not to provide cover, then to be there when all else seemed to fail only to find her right there ready to do what was needed to help you move ahead.
She was preceded in death by son Michael, and siblings Eileen, Red, Billy, and Gerry.
Survived by her husband of 71 years Eugene, her children Terry, Chris Joe, Deborah her grandchildren Jennifer, Katie, Kelsey, Angela, Craig, and great grandchildren Jackson, Emma, Mateo, Diego, Lucia, Trevor, Derrick, Alan and Kingston.
