Beverly - Evelyn S. Butman, 106 ½ of Beverly, passed on Saturday July 18th.
Born on December 31, 1919, in Beverly, she was the middle daughter of the late Isobel G. (Parkinson) and J. Everett Butman. Sister of the late N. June (Butman) Oliver and Barbara J. (Butman) Clark.
A life-long resident of Beverly, Evelyn was a graduate of Beverly High School and worked in customer relations at Mass Electric until her retirement at 62. She was an adventurous traveler and loved pets and the outdoors. As a devoted member of Centerville Church, she met and enjoyed an amazing relationship with John and Julie Potter and Michelle Briand. Residing in Turtle Creek Apartments for the last 17 years, Evelyn was blessed to meet many new friends.
Though she never married, she considered her nieces and nephews her "kids." She is survived by her nephew, Haven Clark of Merrimac, nieces Alysa Ellison of WA, Melissa Manning (Michael) of ME, and Victoria Swanson of Danvers as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters, and her two nephews, James Oliver and Edward M. Smith.
Funeral services for Evelyn will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 147 Highland Avenue, Salem, MA 01970.
