Salem - Estelle (Legault) Godjikian of Salem, Mass., passed away peacefully in her home on November 4. She was born in Lawrence, Mass., on August 29, 1934, to Estelle Mallet Legault and John R. Legault. She was a lifelong resident of Salem.
Estelle was a graduate of St James School in Salem. She worked at Pequot Mills, Sylvania in Danvers and enjoyed keeping the children in line while working in the lunch program in the Salem school system before retiring in 1996. Estelle enjoyed fishing, bowling, cribbage, playing cards, and the casino. She was a fantastic baker and knew how to throw a picnic or party!
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Arthur; her son Arthur and wife Connie of St Maries, Idaho; a son Michael and husband Timothy of Sunderland, Vt.; and daughter Debra Young and husband Barry of Groveland, Mass. Nine siblings preceded her in death. She is additionally survived by a brother Albert Legault of Beverly, Mass.; and a sister Paula Lareau of Salem; along with four granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; and dozens of nieces and nephews.
Estelle's visiting hours will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., corner of North St., Salem, on Friday, November 8, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m. Her funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd, Salem, on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at 10 a.m. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Estelle was a friend of my Mother and Father, she was also my Godmother.
She always remembered me in my younger years growing up. Although out of touch for many many years, she will always be remembered.
