Danvers - Elma V. (Kauppinen) Cunney, 101, died peacefully on Thursday morning, January 23, 2025. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Cunney.

Born in Peabody on December 5, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Nestor and Amanda (Lummaka) Kauppinen. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School.

Elma worked over the years at General Electric, CBS Hytron, and Varian.

She enjoyed gardening, swimming, and travel, especially visiting relatives in Finland.

Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she adored.

She leaves a daughter, Carolyn Abram of Gloucester, two grandchildren, Frank Abram and his wife, Donna of Maine and Christopher Whitney and his wife, Sarah of New York, and three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Lonan, and Maple.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Jim Merchant, Phillip, Archie, and Arnold Kauppinen, and Viano Perry.
