Elizabeth Ann (Connolly) Murphy Obituary

Beverly - Betty Ann (Connolly) Murphy, 84, of Beverly, died on Sunday, December 14th. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (McGowan) Connolly of North Quincy, MA, and the beloved wife of Daniel C. Murphy.

Known for her organizational acumen and steadfast commitment to public service, Betty devoted her career to supporting others and her community. For 20 years she served as an aide and administrative assistant to the Commandant of the First Naval District in Boston. She later served at the Landmark School and Beverly Regional YMCA until retirement. An engaged and gracious presence, she was active in the political campaigns of former Mayor William F. Scanlon and was a member of the Beverly Golf and Tennis Commission, Beverly Improvement Society, Cove Improvement Association, and the Beverly Charitables Organization. She cherished time spent playing golf on local courses, skiing with friends as a member of the Penguin Ski Club in Bartlett, N.H., and participating in community events—often enjoying lively conversations about politics and local affairs. Above all, her happiest moments were always with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Betty was born on April 20, 1941, and was a proud graduate of North Quincy High School, Class of 1958. She earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Massachusetts.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel C. Murphy of Beverly; her daughter, Jennifer Diane (Murphy) Aimone and husband, Kenneth Aimone of Londonderry, NH; her sister, Maureen Genereux of Norwell, MA; and her two beloved grandchildren, Gianna Marie Aimone and Alexander John Aimone of Londonderry, NH. She is also survived by a niece, four nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and brother-in-law, Robert Genereux.

Her memorial service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street on Monday, January 5th at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
