Lynnfield - Elaine M (Barry) Gianino, 85, of Danvers, formerly of Lynnfield, died peacefully on Wednesday November 9, 2022, at her home.
Born in Stoneham on January 23, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Murphy) Barry. She was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1955.
Upon her marriage to her husband John, she moved to Lynnfield where she raised her family and lived there for nearly 50 years. For the last six years she lived at Putnam Hill Farm in Danvers.
Elaine was a faithful and longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Lynnfield where she taught CCD and as a member of the fundraising committee, ran dances, and other fundraisers for many years. She also volunteered at the Lynnfield Public Library and St. John's Prep.
Her hobbies included ballroom dancing, traveling, cooking, and entertaining. Her favorite endeavor was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters Nicole and Sarah.
She was the devoted wife of the late John J. Gianino and loving mother of her two sons, John J. Gianino Jr. and his wife Maribeth of Danvers and Paul B. Gianino and his wife Lauren of Eliot, ME. She was the cherished grandmother of Nicole Pratt and her husband Max, and Sarah Gianino. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren Clyde and Clay Pratt.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday, Nov. 15th from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, corner of Grove and Salem Sts., in Lynnfield on Wednesday, Nov. 16th at 10 a.m. followed by an interment at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
