Edward "Jim" Kroesser, Jr. Obituary
Ipswich - Edward James "Jim" Kroesser, Jr. aged 75, passed away peacefully on February 20th after a courageous battle with cancer. Jim was a man of wisdom, kindness and thoughtfulness. He was a devoted husband to Mary, his college sweetheart, whom he married in 1976; their 50th wedding anniversary would have been this coming July. He was a proud and loving father to Sarah and Lauren, and a cherished father-in-law to Chris and Billy. Nothing brought him greater joy than his grandchildren—Olive, Marietta, Harvey, Jackson, and Sofia—who knew him lovingly as "Pappy."
He also leaves his beloved siblings and their spouses: Peter and Lynne Kroesser; Cheryl Broderick; Nancy and James O'Loughlin; Theresa and Martin Romano; Helen and Bruce German; and Suzanne and Peter Werth.
A graduate of Fairfield Preparatory High School and Clark University, where he was a basketball star, Jim went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School. He practiced real estate law for more than 40 years, building a respected career defined by integrity, sound judgment, and genuine care for his clients. His advice was widely sought, and his steady, reassuring presence was a source of comfort to colleagues, friends, and family alike. He built his practice—and his life—on trust.
Jim will be best remembered fly fishing on the Ipswich River at dawn and dusk, tending to the rose bushes he planted for his bride or with a grand baby perched on his knee. He was the life of every gathering, a gifted storyteller and could hold a room with humor and heart.
Jim's advice, steady guidance and words of encouragement were sought by many, and his calm presence was a source of comfort to all who knew him. Pappy will be endlessly missed.
All are invited to his funeral Mass at the Church of Saint Paul, 50 Union Street, South Hamilton on Monday, March 2nd at 10 o'clock, followed by a celebration of life at Danversport Yacht Club at noon.
