Peabody - Edgar R. Leger, 91, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026 at Hathorne Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Danvers. He was the beloved husband of Sally (Sadowski) Leger with whom he shared 71 years of marriage.

He was born in Salem on August 3, 1934 and was the cherished son of the late Joseph Alyre Leger and Dorilla "Rita" (Blanchard) Leger.

He attended St. Josephs' Academy High School and received an A.A. degree from North Shore Community College in 1969 followed by a B.A. degree from Salem State College in 1973. Edgar worked within the insurance industry as an insurance underwriter for many years followed by employment within the U.S. Government.

Edgar had a lifelong interest in Canadian history and family genealogy. He also had a passion for playing Jazz and Classical guitar.

In addition to his wife, Sally, Edgar is survived by his four sons, Robert Michael Leger of Arlington, Stephen Robert Leger and his wife Maricelia of NC, Jeffrey R. Leger and his wife Maria of SC and Glenn Peter Leger of Middleboro; his five grandchildren, Stephanie Leger, Kristina Curry, and Kaitlyn Leger, Christopher and Briana Leger; his four great-grandchildren, Samuel Lebo and Vincent, Rosaline and Nicholas Curry; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Sadly, in addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Carol Ann Leger.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours at Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 4PM to 7PM and again at 9AM Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Peabody for a Funeral Mass at 10AM.
