Peabody - Dennis F. Maguire, Sr., age 81 of Peabody, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Lillian (Faia) Maguire.

Born in Lynn to the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Cox) Maguire. Dennis was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and worked as a welder for G.E. until his retirement.

He was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus.

As a young father, he loved spending time with his kids, taking them on trips to New Hampshire, Virginia, and DC. He coached their baseball and softball teams. Once he became a grandfather and was retired, he took on an even a bigger role for his grandkids and their cousins. He was their babysitter, coach, and chauffeur. He was the lifeguard for Friday pool parties and was the chaperone for an annual trip to Canobie Lake. He and Lillian hosted Christmas breakfast and Christmas dinner every year. He and Lillian enjoyed traveling, often with his siblings, going to Italy, Ireland, California, Las Vegas, and Hawaii.

Dennis was preceded in death by his siblings, John Maguire, Barbara Regan, Mary Fabiano, his sister-in-law Susan Maguire, and his brother-in-law Richard Fabiano. In addition to his wife Lillian, Dennis is survived by his brother James Maguire, his brother-in-law Matthew Regan, and his sister-in-law Lorraine Downing, his children Kelly (Steve) Newbury, Dennis (Allison) Maguire, and Erin Maguire and his stepchildren Charles (Lisa) Jackson, and Elisa (Steve) Giusti. He is also survived by his grandchildren Victoria, Alexandria, Samantha, Courtney, Thomas, Taylor, Joseph, Katie, Christopher, Erika and Aaron, and great-grandchildren Madeline, Dalton, Richard, Harper, and Brianna.

Friends and family are invited to attend Dennis's visitation on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M. at St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street, Lynn. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Please perform an act of kindness in his honor.
