Deborah Lee Citron-Stevens Obituary

Essex, MA - Deborah Lee Citron-Stevens, 70, of Essex, wife of Phillips Stevens, passed away at her home on Saturday morning, June 23, 2018. Deborah was born in Rockville Center, N.Y., on January 21, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Hazel (Storch) Citron. After high school, Deb continued and received her bachelor’s from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg, Pa., and went on to receive her master’s in Education from Edinboro State College, in Edinboro, Pa. She was an accomplished artist who worked in different mediums, including oil, printmaking, mosaics, and metal sculptures with her husband. Deb was a member of the Rockport Art Association and had her own graphic design business before she became sick. Deb and Phil traveled to Fla., and the Southeast, visiting friends they met while camping at Potters Place in Lebanon, Maine, during the summer months. Deb also loved to spend time in her gardens raising flowers and vegetables for family and friends. She is survived by her husband Philips; son, Samuel Stevens and his wife Haley (Thibodeau) Stevens of Amesbury; sister Judith Citron of Peabody; brother Richard Citron and his wife Jean of Blufton, S.C.; good friends Barbara Kelly, Joy Buell, both of Gloucester, and Toby Brennan from Brewster. She also leaves behind her Wheaten Terrier, Teddie.

There are no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Brain Tumor Research/Dr. Wen, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445, and make note it is in memory of Deborah Lee Citron-Stevens.
