David A. Martin Obituary

Essex - David A. Martin, 71, of Essex, husband of Patricia Gallagher, passed away on Sunday, December 4th, 2022, in Lahey Hospital in Burlington.

David was born in Boston, MA on June 24, 1951, and was the son of the late Vernon A. and Yolanda (Elso) Martin. David graduated from Swampscott High School and was drafted into the army during the Vietnam era. After his service, he ventured into real estate, working alongside his father in the family-owned business, Vernon A. Martin Inc. Realtors. David later continued the real estate company under a new name, The Martin Group, where he and his wife Trish kept the legacy going. He was a lifelong musician, who often played with his band The Chowdah Heads. In the summer, you would most likely find him on his boat, The Narwhal, cruising the Essex River.

He is survived by his wife Patricia; son Zachary Martin and wife, Taysa; son Spencer Martin and wife Jessica; step-son, Richard Buonaugurio and wife Danielle; step-daughter Vanessa Buonaugurio; step-daughter Stephanie Buonaugurio; grandsons, Brennon Martin and Grant Martin and Charlie Buonaugurio; sister, Karen Martin; sister, Cindy Martin; sister Michele Prince and husband Aaron; and five nieces and nephews.



Visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 9 to 11 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Spring Street Cemetery in Essex, MA. Online condolences may be given at: www.greelyfuneralhome.com.
