Swampscott - David M. Delaney, age 80, a longtime resident of Salem and recently Swampscott, died peacefully at home on May 18, 2022.
Raised in Nahant, he was the son of the late John and Ann Delaney. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Deborah Delaney and his four wonderful sons David (Diana), Paul (Noel), Raymond (Kimberly) and Sean, his siblings Jack (Jeannie), Kevin (Ann), Brian (Laura) and Paul (Carol) and the late Cissy Delaney. He was predeceased by his first wife Marie. He also leaves five grandchildren who adored him: Ian, Quinn, Zylee, Hannon and Amelia Delaney, his many nieces, nephews and cousins are all deeply saddened by our loss. Dave enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking and all sports. He owned and operated Delaney Plumbing and Heating for 52 years. A proud veteran of the US Army, he loved history, especially the Civil War. He had multiple talents and was the go to person for any family project or problem. His skills enabled him to construct his own vacation home on Lake Thompson, Maine where the family enjoyed years of boating, fishing and fun. We were all fortunate to share a celebration of Dave's life with him on his 80th birthday April 23rd. Oh selfless man and stainless gentleman.
For those desiring, memorials may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St. Danvers.
