Charles A. Lundrigan Obituary

Beverly - On Thursday, January 15, 2026, we lost a great man. Charles "Charlie" Lundrigan, 82, of Beverly, MA, passed away at Salem Hospital, surrounded by his wife and family.

Charlie was born on June 6, 1943, to Harold and Anna (Fraser) Lundrigan. He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved son, Chuck Lundrigan. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years and the love of his life, Carole (Bissell) Lundrigan; his daughters, Robin Lundrigan and her companion, Tim Lane of Essex, Kristin Larson and her husband Stephen of Ipswich; his six grandchildren, Caitlin and her husband Marc, James, Kelly, Kyleigh, Reese, and Joshua; his two great-granddaughters, Ada and Cora; his brother, David Lundrigan and his wife Janet; his sister, Nancy Lundrigan Jackson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Charlie learned early that nothing in life was handed to you—you earned it. At just 18 years old, he joined the United States Navy, ready to work hard, take responsibility, and build something meaningful. That mindset stayed with him for the rest of his life. He didn't wait for perfect timing—he showed up, figured things out as he went.

In 1965, after 4 years of proudly serving his country, Charlie and Carole opened Lundy's Company. What began as a small business evolved over the next 61 years. Charlie was always grateful for the people who stood by him—family, employees, friends, and customers.

One of Charlie's favorite sayings was, "It's all relative." A reminder that character matters more than wealth. He never truly retired, saying that if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. His daughter Kristin, his business partner for more than 36 years, will continue the work he loved—carrying forward not just the business, but the values, grit, and work ethic he lived by every day.

Charlie and Carole loved traveling, especially cruising, and shared many adventures with family and close friends. Together, they created two beautiful homes—places filled with family, memories, and a life well lived. One of his proudest accomplishments was building their dream home on the water in Cape Coral, Florida—a place they created side by side, reflecting the life they built together. Golf was his lifelong passion. The course was his happy place—where he enjoyed the challenge, the walk, and a familiar ritual of starting the round with a friendly wager.

Above all else, Charlie was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loving Papa. He and Carole built a life rooted in love. Family was always his first priority. He encouraged them to be curious, try new things, and never stop learning. He showed up for them—quietly, consistently, and with pride.

Charlie—Dad, Papa, Uncle Charlie, Lundy—will always be part of us. His life shaped ours, and his legacy lives on through the people he loved. He will never be forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Charlie's life on February 1, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Longboards Restaurant and Bar, Salem, MA.
