Peabody - Catherine Gloria "Kay" (Cordeau) Vilar, age 95, of Peabody, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. She was the wife of the late Manuel Vilar.
Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ada (Bonin) Cordeau.
Kay was a graduate of East Boston High School. She had lived in Peabody for over 60 years. She enjoyed the many activities offered at Life Care Center of the North Shore and looked forward to socializing with the other residents there.
Kay is survived by her brother, Richard Cordeau and his wife Margie of Lynn; her nieces and nephews, Tom Giancristiano and his wife Mary, Karen Miranda and her husband Larry, Vincent Polito and his wife Linda, and Laurette McMahon and her husband Pat; her godson John Reppucci, as well as several great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Helen Magnell and her husband Joseph, Gladys Nicotera and her husband Leo, Dorothy McEachern and her husband Paul, Arthur John Cordeau and his wife, Kathleen and Joseph "Lenny" Cordeau and his wife Anna; as well as her brothers-in-law, Emidio Giancristiano and Vincent Polito.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kay's memory to St. Ann's Memorial Fund, 712 Lowell St., Peabody MA 01960.
