DANVERS - DANVERS - Catherine Endicott (Tyler) Lindquist, 77, of Danvers, MA, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.
Born on May 29, 1947, in Jamaica Plain, MA, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Laura (Roberts) Tyler of Middleton, MA. Cathy was raised in Middleton and graduated from Masconomet Regional High School in Boxford, MA in 1965. She also attended the John Robert Powers Finishing School. A gifted singer and devoted Girl Scout in her youth, Cathy was crowned Miss Danvers in 1966 and participated in the Miss Massachusetts pageant, where her grace, poise, and beautiful voice left a lasting impression.
Cathy went on to earn her nursing degree from New England Baptist Nursing School in Boston, MA in 1969. She worked as a dedicated and caring nurse for decades, touching the lives of countless patients with her warmth, calm presence, and unwavering empathy. Nursing was more than a profession for Cathy—it was a calling, and she approached it with the same love and attentiveness she gave to her family and friends.
Cathy met her soulmate, Paul Lindquist, in high school, and they were married on July 6, 1969. Their love was the foundation of a joyful life filled with music and deep-rooted family values.
In addition to her parents, Cathy was predeceased by her loving husband of 36 years, Paul Lindquist, and her sister, Barbara (Tyler) Lindquist. She is survived by her son Brian Lindquist and his wife, Karen of Wellesley, MA, and their daughters Kathryn and Sarah; her daughter Heather (Lindquist) Jones and her husband Steve of Newburyport, MA, and their children, Caroline and Nolan. She also leaves behind her sister Marge Freed and her husband, Walter of Dorset, VT; their children Jonathan, Meghan, and Meredith; and her great-niece, Evelyn.
Visiting hours will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. Cathy's funeral service will be held at Middleton Congregational Church, 66 Maple St., Middleton on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 10 a.m. The burial will be private and held at a later date.
