Salem - Brian Michael Courtney, 66, passed away on November 11, 2025.

Born on June 8, 1959, in Salem, MA, Brian brought joy and laughter to those around him throughout his life.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Erica Hoar and Briana Wakefield; his son, Adam Page; and his cherished granddaughters, Eloise and Mabel Hoar. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline Courtney; father, Robert Sr.; brother, Robert Jr.; and sister, Deborah Smith.

Brian was a free spirit with a hippie heart. His granddaughters affectionately called him "Papa," sharing a special, silly bond. With his daughters, he created memories—from sunny days at Salem Willows to teaching them to drive in his beloved Austin Healey antique car. They shared a love of showtunes, playing cards, and watching The Wizard of Oz.

Brian was known among childhood friends as both a talented athlete and a mischievous companion. Throughout his life, he worked diligently in restaurants and in construction, forming lifelong friendships.

Brian was a devoted Red Sox fan, attending games with his brother and close friends. He restored antique cars with pride and showcased them at car shows. He also found joy in landscaping projects and building koi ponds.

Brian leaves behind a legacy of laughter, resilience, and heartfelt connection that will live on in the memories of all who knew him.
