Barbara L. Kelly Obituary

Peabody - Peabody - Barbara Louise (White) Kelly, 78, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, at Beverly Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of her high school sweetheart, Richard Kelly, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.

Barabra was born in New London, CT, the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Laffargue) White. She graduated as a member of the Class of 1965 at Peabody High School and earned a Business Associate Degree from North Shore Community College. She started as a teller at Warren Five Cents Savings Bank in 1979 and worked her way up to Vice President, retiring in 2003.

She was very active in the Peabody community volunteering for the International Festival, the Peabody Chamber of Commerce, the Daffodil Days Program for the American Cancer Society, and the Peabody Education Council. She received the Harry Ankeles Award in 2001 from the Peabody Chamber of Commerce. She loved traveling, taking photos, and—most of all—spending time with her family.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Richard, of Peabody, her son Brian and his wife Jill of Braintree, her son Darren and his wife Kimberly of Peabody, her grandchildren Katelyn and Daniel of Braintree, her cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held to honor Barbara's life. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday August 21 from 12-3pm at Toscana Forno at 139 Lynnfield Street, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
