Peabody - Peabody - Barbara Alice Doyle, 91, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur N. Doyle with whom she shared 64 years of marriage until his passing in 2021.

Barbara was born in Salem, MA on March 26, 1934 and was the cherished daughter of the late Leo and Helen (Pref) Bourgoin. She was a 1951 graduate of Salem High School. After completing her education, Barbara began a career at the New England Telephone Company, where she worked for over 30 years as an executive secretary. She was a long-time active member of St. Ann's Parish in Peabody.

In retirement, Barbara enjoyed many years of parties, activities and camaraderie at the Peabody Senior Center, where she was a member of the Golden Age Club and the South Peabody Book Club. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her cherished grandchildren. She especially loved family vacations to Cape Cod, North Conway, and Florida. Her home was a favorite family gathering place for holidays, cook outs, and pool parties.

In her later years, Barbara resided at Brightview Assisted Living in Wakefield, where she enjoyed parties, bingo, musical events, and cardio drumming. She had a wonderful circle of friends and staff members who greatly enriched her years there. Her warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Barbara is survived by her four children, Karen Doyle and her partner Robert Sikora of Arlington, Kathleen MacMillan and her husband John of Wakefield, Kevin Doyle of Los Angeles, CA and Kristine McDonald and her husband Thomas of Grafton. In addition, she is survived by four grandchildren, Amanda MacMillan and her wife Molly, Ryan MacMillan and his fiancé Jade Desmarais, and Thomas and Samuel McDonald.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Helen Tanguay and brother-in-law Leo Tanguay.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody.
