Annmarie (Zubiel) Noyes Obituary

Ipswich - Ipswich - Ann Marie (McCullough), (Zubiel), Noyes, wife of John W. Noyes passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, after a lengthy illness. Daughter of the late Charles B. McCullough, Jr., and Alice (McRae), (McCullough) Doyle, she was born in Beverly, MA on September 7, 1946, and attended St Mary's School, graduating from Bishop Fenwick. Undoubtedly happily married to her current husband John who took great care of his wife as her illness progressed, AnnMarie was predeceased by her first husband Edward Zubiel with whom she was married to for 40 years before his untimely passing. They raised their three children in Rowley, then years after Eddie passed, she relocated to Ipswich after meeting and eventually marrying "Saint John" as his mother-in-law dubbed him due to the loving and dedicated care he showed her daughter throughout her illness, barely leaving her side.

An avid Red Sox fan, AnnMarie loved to sing and dance, travel, and spend time in Ogunquit Maine on weekend days. She never complained about having MS and very rarely missed a family function, loved to go out to lunch and dinner at either the Choate Bridge Pub or Ipswich Pizza up until five years ago when MS started to really take a toll on her. She traveled to Ireland with friends twice, too stubborn and adventurous to ever let anything stop her from what she wanted to do. She was extremely intelligent and was a formidable opponent to anyone brave enough to debate any subject with her. She could also out spell the best of them and was a walking encyclopedia. Ann Marie was a kind, gentle soul who loved her family very much. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. When she was a teenager, she was given the nickname "The Queen" in jest by her brothers and sisters. We will always remember how strong you were and how you handled your disease with grace and class. Long live the Queen!

Along with her husband, AnnMarie is survived by her son, Ted Zubiel of Haverhill, MA, her daughter, Amy Horton and her husband Eric of Springvale, ME, her brother, Joseph P. McCullough and his wife Kathy, her sisters, Kathleen Mosco and her husband Daniel and Suzanne (Doyle) Ballentine, all of Beverly, her stepbrothers, Mark and James Doyle of Beverly, Joe and Cheryl Doyle of Danvers, her grandchildren, Caitlin and Madelyn Zubiel, Sean, Rebecca and Allison Horton and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was predeceased by her son, Stephen Zubiel, who passed away on March 8, 2022, her mother, Alice Doyle, who entered into Heaven with Stephen only two months after him on May 31, 2022, her infant sister, Mary and stepbrother, Christopher Doyle.

Her funeral service will be at Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Saturday, March 15th at 12pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours prior to the service from 10am to 12pm. Burial will be at Rowley Burial Ground. Information, directions, condolence at www.campbellfuneral.com.
