Danvers - Anne M. Creeden, 96, of Danvers, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late John D. (Jack) Creeden.

Born and raised in Peabody on July 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Mary (McCormick) Crowley and the loving sister of Betty who died at the age of nine. Anne missed her sister so much and spoke of her often. Anne was raised and educated in Peabody, graduating from high school in 1947.

Anne worked in the law offices of Judge Daniel Manning in Lynn and later as a title examiner in various law offices in the North Shore area.

Anne loved getting up in the morning, preparing a thermos of tea and driving her beloved (predeceased) car to West Beach to walk the full length of the beach! She was proud that she exercised with her very good friend and trainer who truly kept her active for the last 30 years of her life. She loved going to the theater, visiting greenhouses, and spending time at the library. She was an avid reader and was an active and devoted member of both the Danvers Senior Center and Hamilton-Wenham Book Clubs, where she enjoyed thoughtful discussion and lasting friendships. Anne started her day watching the news, couldn't wait to read the paper and was completely up to date on current events! She was smart, curious, and had a quick sense of humor.

Anne had a remarkable number of friends; her kitchen counter covered with birthday cards every year. She loved to have friends over, make a pot of tea, and sit and chat for hours. She was a good friend, caring and loving, always remembering to check in with people who most needed her kind words. She was known for her phone conversations going on for hours (a bit too long, according to her husband, Jack)!

Anne and Jack shared 66 years of marriage and family. They enjoyed traveling to the Cape and the White mountains including many years of family vacations with David, Jane and Dan. Anne loved taking day trips with her granddaughter Caroline and her dog Owen. They would walk up to Fort Sewall in Marblehead, visit the Beech tree at Glen Magna, and the Beverly Farms Book Shop where she helped to instill Caroline's love of reading.

We want to thank her very special caregivers who helped us make it possible for her to live in her home independently for the last years of her life.

She is survived by her two children, David Creeden and his wife, Rosa Casado, and Jane Simmons and her husband, David, and her granddaughter, Caroline, all of Middleton. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Daniel Creeden.
