Beverly - Beverly - Ann (McLain) Farrell, 89, of Beverly, died on July 27th.

Born in Gorham, NH to Charles and Kathleen (Nangle) McLain and loving wife to the late John Farrell.

After raising her children, Ann went back to college and graduated summa cum laude from Salem State University in 1987 with a degree in history. Her passion for democracy led her to become actively involved in Democratic politics. Ann proudly served as President of the League of Women Voters, where she advocated for voter education and civic participation. After college, she spent much of her professional career at the Social Security Administration in Lynn. In her downtime, Ann was a crafter and a proud member of the Garden City Quilters. Also, she was known for her adventurous spirit and an avid traveler.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Farrell and her wife, Kathleen Sampson of NY and Winter Park, FL, Elizabeth Farrell and wife, Barbara Davy of NY; one son, Andrew Farrell of Chicago; one sister in-law, Constance Bannon of Beverly; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by one brother, Neil McLain; one sister, Sally Holmes.

Her funeral service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Saturday, August 2nd at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 1st from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be at Central Cemetery, Beverly.
