Salem - Ann Darmody 90, of Salem MA, beloved wife of the late William Darmody passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Milford MA, she was the daughter of the late Matthew Andreano and the late Lena (McRae) Andreano. She was raised and educated in Milford and was a graduate of Milford High School, class of 1953.

Ann began her career at Western Union where she met her husband, Bill. She worked there for many years, eventually working for EGG in Salem where she retired in 1999. She was a hard worker and was able to raise a family while working full-time.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Ann was truly devoted to her friends and family and loved spending time with them. She was always there for them.

Ann loved to have a good time and would light up a room when she entered, she had quick wit and could always make people laugh. She also loved to swim. She would wake up early every morning to get her swim at the Salem YMCA. Ann was also an avid reader and would love to vacation in Maine with a good book, she will truly be missed.

Ann is survived by her children, Debbie Bresnahan and her husband, Tim of Peabody, Bill Darmody and his wife, Cheryl of Salem, Mary Doliber and her husband, Dave of Maine and Edward of Lynn, her dog, Snoopy, several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Matthew Darmody.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church, 17 Chestnut St., Peabody, Monday, July 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and to kindly meet at church. Burial will follow at Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem. Arrangements by the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
