Port Charlotte - Allen William Grace, beloved husband of Jane Clark Grace, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026. He was the son of Charles William and Leah Dupont Grace.
He was president of his Salem High School, Class of 1959, and known as "Big Al" since he was 6'7". He had a love of riding roller coasters, going to firework displays, figure skating in hi younger years, and golf as he got older. He also loved to take his children to Waikiki Beach on Winter Island and treat them to Hobb's popcorn at the Salem Willows.
Allen was married to Jane for nearly 38 years. He was the Manager of Transport for GTE Sylvania for 30 years in Danvers, MA. Following his marriage to Jane in 1988, the couple moved to York, Maine where they resided for 30 years. Allen was able to retire early, which allowed Allen and Jane to travel the world, visiting Africa, the South Pacific, South America and most of Europe. In 2017, Allen and Jane moved to Port Charlotte, Florida, where they resided until his death.
Surviving him in addition to his wife Jane are two children with his previous wife, Frances, Tamara Grace Casey and Charles Allen Grace, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his brother, Ralph Grace.
Memorial funeral services will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., Salem, MA, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 11 a.m. followed by interment at St. Mary Cemetery,
There will be a second Celebration of Life in the winter of 2026-2027 in Heritage Oak Park, where they live.
