Alfred W. Blago Obituary

Lynn - Alfred W. Blago, age 95, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Wanda S. (Wojciechowski) Blago, with whom he shared nearly 67 years of marriage. Born and raised in Chelsea, he was the son of the late Francis and Anna (Tarasewicz) Blago. He was a graduate of Chelsea High School, class of 1947, and had lived in Lynn for the greater part of his life.

Alfred proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a State Trooper with the Massachusetts State Police until his retirement in 1980. After his retirement, he also worked in security at First National Bank of Boston. He was a member of the PLAV, Post 56 in Lynn, as well as St. Michael the Archangel Lodge 630 Polish National Alliance and the Retired State Trooper Association. He was also a World War II history buff and enjoyed watching movies and reading books about that time period.

He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Wanda; his four loving children and their spouses, Susan Blago and Mark Zengilowski of Hickory, NC, Michael Blago of Kennebunkport, ME, Pamela and the late Steven Dacey of Dedham, and Matthew Blago and his wife Tracey of Beverly; his four devoted grandchildren; Brendan Dacey of Dedham, Ashley Blago of Beverly, Rose Dacey of Dedham and Heather Blago of Beverly; as well as his niece and nephew; Stephanie Whiting of Topsham, ME and Ronald Blago of Florida. He was predeceased by his siblings, Benjamin and sister-in-law Josphine Blago, Roman and Mary Blago.

His funeral will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 10AM from the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt 129), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 11AM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 4-8PM.
