Albert Paul DeCristoforo, age 82, of Reading, formerly a longtime resident of Beverly, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, October 28, 2016. He was the beloved husband of the late Rosemary Walker DeCristoforo.
Born in Charlestown on June 30, 1934, he was the loving son of former Holliston Selectman, George DeCristoforo and Mary (Fabiano) DeCristoforo. Al grew up in Holliston and was a graduate of Framingham High School. He attended Northeastern University in Boston, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Al and Rosemary were wed on May 5, 1972. Prior to retiring, Al had worked as an Insurance Broker, and along with his wife, operated the former Rosemary Walker Insurance Agency, Inc. in Danvers. The agency was founded in 1970. Al loved to travel, socialize with his friends and colleagues, and enjoyed watching sports, cooking with his family, and going to the beach. He was an extremely hard working and dedicated man. Al was always interested in helping others and was devoted to his family and pets.
Survived by his children Mary DeCristoforo Oliva, and her husband, Donald Jay Oliva of Hopedale; Paul Walker DeCristoforo of Reading; and Danielle Priscilla DeCristoforo and her fiance, Lance Joseph Schermerhorn of Reading. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Anthony DeCristoforo, Ali Suenaert, and Zachary and Megan Oliva.
Funeral services and burial are private and there are no visiting hours.
