Wayne R.'s Story
Wayne R. Gauthier 83, formerly of Hamilton, husband of the late Margaret E. (Adams) Gauthier, died Monday, July 24, 2017 at his home.
Born in East Chicago, Indiana, he was the son of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Montgomery) Gauthier. He received his education in the Hamilton school system and graduated from Hamilton High School, Class of 1953 where he played on the baseball, football and basketball teams.
Mr. Gauthier had been employed for many years as a heavy machine mechanic for Modern Continental in Cambridge until the time of his retirement.
A longtime resident of Hamilton before moving to Salem, New Hampshire 35 years ago, he was the former Captain of the volunteer Hamilton Fire Department. Wayne enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid snow mobile rider.
He is survived by his significant other, Anne Pasek of Salem, N.H.; two daughters, Patricia Moore and her husband, Thomas of Alexandria, N.H. and Margaret Hahnen of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two sons, Raymond Gauthier of Topsfield and Michael Gauthier and his wife, Michelle of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; three sisters, Donna Frost of Revere, Laura Kniffin of Virginia and Maureen Tucker of Hamilton; two brothers, Gordon Lamson and Jonathan Lamson, both of Hamilton. He was also the father of the late Diane Fraser.
His funeral service will be held graveside, at the Hamilton Cemetery, Bay Road, Hamilton, Saturday, July 30, 2017 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
