Shirley M. (Mahoney)'s Story
Shirley M. (Mahoney) Carusi, age 90, beloved wife of the late Armand J. Carusi, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, April 12, 2017 at Life Care Center of Acton. She was the dear daughter of the late William J. and Josephine M. (Gallant) Mahoney, and the sister of the late Daniel G. Mahoney of Peabody.
She was born and raised in Salem where she was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1944, and was a resident of Beverly for many years.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mrs. Carusi was employed in retail stores including L.H. Rogers in Salem and Filene's in Peabody. She enjoyed walking, dancing, women's fashion, and caring for her home. And of course nothing made her happier than spending loving time with her family. Shirley was a selfless woman who made everyone she came in contact with feel special.
In addition to her husband, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage, she is survived by two sons, Michael J. Carusi and his longtime friend, Kathaleen Alexander of Bolton, and Paul A. Carusi and his wife, Deborah of North Andover. Shirley was also the mother of the late Vincent J. Carusi and his wife, Regie of Boston.
Funeral service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Saturday, April 15. 2017 at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be prior from 9 to 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
