Sarah L.'s Story
Sarah L. Baginski, age 94, passed away Friday, April 14 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was born in Beverly, the daughter of the late John J. and Annie J. MacCormack. Sarah was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than three decades, Henry Baginski; her daughter, Suzanne Roberts and her brother, James MacCormack.
As a young woman, Sarah worked for the United Shoe Company in Beverly and would tell stories of how she would make pickups and deliveries throughout the factory while wearing roller skates. She also worked at Daniel Low Company in Salem, until her retirement in 1990.
Sarah and Henry had a lake house in New Hampshire where they would spend endless summers with their children and then grandchildren enjoying nature and creating lifelong memories. She awoke each morning to the beautiful view of the harbor from her Beverly home, where she loved walking along the shore collecting sea glass and watching the waves roll in. She was an animal lover, regularly stopping dog walkers to say hello to their four legged companions. Sarah was an avid reader and possessed a great intellect. Her thirst for knowledge was unquenchable. Her will was strong, she was independent and self-reliant, never afraid to speak her mind. The love and support she gave her family was boundless.
Sarah leaves behind two sons, James Baginski of Beverly and Michael Baginski and his wife, Elaine, also of Beverly. She also leaves behind her son-in-law, William Roberts; as well as five grandchildren, Sean Roberts and his wife, Carli, Matt Roberts and his wife, Jeanmarie, Andrew Roberts, Nicole Ciruolo and her husband, Dan, and Matt Baginski; and two great-grandchildren, Lily and Josh Roberts.
Her funeral service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.
