Rodney M.'s Story
Mr. Rodney M. Albert, 36 of Salem died unexpectedly Thursday, August 10, 2017 in Salem.
Born on July 24, 1981 in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada he was the son of Joan (Pelletier) Albert the late Alan Albert.
As a child, Rodney was happiest hanging out with friends while sitting behind a drum set. Music was an influential part of his life. As an adult, his love of photography flourished. He explored and often shot images of abandoned places, producing images from a prospective that most people never get the chance to experience.
Rodney worked in kitchens all around Beverly and Salem where he developed many loyal friendships. Some of the places include Longboards in Salem, he was the former Head Chef at The Indo in Beverly, and also worked at The Naumkeag Ordinary in Salem.
His friends and colleagues say “when he laughed in the kitchen, it was the best!”
In addition to his mother, Joan Albert of Madawaska, ME; Rodney is survived by his sister, Amy Plourde and her husband Gary and their son Nathan of Otisfield, Maine; his brother, Erik Albert of Westbrook, Maine; his grandmother, Therese Albert of Madawaska, Maine and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, Alan Albert.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at The Indo, 298 Cabot St., Beverly, on Sunday, August 27th, from 3 to 10 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Rodney’s name to Ellis Square Friends, a local outreach program which will be available at the event.
