Robert E.'s Story
Robert E. Whiting passed away at Ledgewood Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Home, Beverly on Wednesday, September 21, 2017, after a long illness, with his wife by his side. He enjoyed visits from his entire family and dear friends in the days prior to his passing.
Born in Lynn, Bob was the son of the late Harry and Delilah (Purdy) Whiting. He graduated from Lynn English High School in 1965 and attended North Shore Community College. He resided in Danvers for over 41 years.
Bob worked for New England Telephone, NYNEX and Verizon for over 30 years, from where he retired as a Senior Operations Specialist. He also worked for J. P. Morgan Chase for several years.
Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathleen (Donahue) Whiting. He is also survived by his five children, Cheryl Foss of Beverly, Robert Whiting and his wife, Rosemary of Beverly, David Whiting and his wife, Michelle of Georgetown, Amy Enos and her husband, Eric of Methuen and Kelly Granz and her husband, Jonathan of So. Hamilton. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Hannah, Nicholas, Katherine, Izabella, Ryan, Abigail and Lorelei.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Ledgewood for the loving and compassionate care he received. He made many wonderful friends while he lived there.
His graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Sylvan Street, Danvers. Friends and family are invited.
