Richard J.'s Story
Richard J. “Tex” Williams 78, of Peabody, formerly of Beverly, beloved husband of the late Brenda L. (Cuoco) Williams, died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Beverly Hospital.
Born and raised in Bryan, Texas, he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Tiny (Fricke) Williams.
An honorably discharged verteran, he served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Coast Guard.
Mr. Williams had been employed for 32 years as a coater and painter at the United Shoe Machine Corp. in Beverly until the time of his retirement.
A resident of Peabody since 1988 and prior to that in Beverly, he was a member of the Franco American Club in Beverly. He enjoyed fishing and was an accomplished pool player. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving him are three daughters, Rebecca Williams of Peabody, Jessica Williams and her fiance, Anthony Somes of Blaine, Maine and Arlene Middleton of Gloucester, two sons, Allison Williams and his wife, Sandra of Peabody and Richard Williams of Gloucester, seven grandchildren, Megan, Jonathan, Chantelle, Anthony, Kevin, Matthew, Michele and Isiah, three great-grandchildren, Emma, Gabriella and Grayson and several nieces and nephews. He was aslo the brother of the late Thomas Williams.
Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be private.
