Raymond R.'s Story
Raymond R. Page Sr., 87, beloved husband of the late Mary E. (Fleming) Page, died Monday, August 28, 2017, at home surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of the late Rocco F. and Josephine M. (Marshall) Page. He graduated from high school in Buffalo, N.Y., and earned an associate’s degree from North Shore Community College in Beverly.
An honorably discharged veteran, he began his career by serving his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Navy. He continued his service to his country in the Naval and Air Force Reserves until his discharge in the 1990s.
Mr. Page had been employed for 30 years as a defense contractor for the U.S. Government until the time of his retirement.
A longtime resident of Beverly, he was a member of the American Legion, the Beverly Elks and had volunteered for many years at the Beverly Hospital. Mr. Page was also an active member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Beverly.
Surviving him are two daughters, Pamela Page Avallon of Beverly and Kathleen Chapman and her husband, Robert of Peabody; two sons, Raymond R. Page Jr. and his wife, Susan of Beverly and Lawrence Page of Beverly; nine grandchildren, Anthony, Ashely and William Page, Lawrence Jr., Kevin and Jamie Page, Jannelle Lawry, Timothy and Joshua Chapman; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence Marshall of Buffalo, N.Y., and Leonard Marshall of Buffalo, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, Saturday, September 2, 2017, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
