Pauline Elizabeth (White)'s Story
Mrs. Pauline Elizabeth (White) Mungan, 91, of Lynn, beloved wife of the late Fredrick A. Mungan died Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the Jesmond Nursing Home in Nahant.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Elizabeth (Hall) White.
She was raised and educated in Marblehead, and was a graduate of Marblehead High School.
Mrs. Mungan had been employed as a medical health attendant at the Lenox Hill Nursing Home in Lynn, the former Danvers State Hospital and the former Tewksbury State Hospital until the time of her retirement in the year 2000.
A resident of the city of Lynn for over 56 years, Pauline was devoted to her family and community. She was a longtime member and Past Commander of the American Legion Auxiliary, Shoemaker Post 345 of Lynn. She was the District 8 Director of Essex County and was always recognized for her dedication and commitment to the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an active member of the Central Congregational Church and the church choir. An artist at heart, Pauline enjoyed spending her time painting and creating ceramics. She was a talented arts and crafts maker who shared her creations with her family. She loved to play bingo and had a deep passion for animals especially her beloved feline companions. She was devoted to her family and will be deeply missed.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Susan Griffin and her husband, Rich Griffin, Sr. of Lynn; her grandchildren, James Dowling and his wife, Nicole of Lynn, Jennifer Dowling of Epping, N.H., Derek Dowling of Amesbury, Richie Griffin, Jr. and his wife, Amanda of Amesbury, Justin Griffin of Lynn; her great-grandchildren, Brooke, Jillian, Reece Dowling, and Mia Griffin.
Her funeral services are private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is The O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem.
