Pamela M.'s Story
Miss Pamela M. Shidler, 45, of Salem, died unexpectedly February 24, 2017, at her home.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Catherine (Fuce) Shidler and J. Lou Shidler. She was raised and educated in South Boston and was a graduate of Newman Preparatory School. Later in life she attended Salter School for medical assistance certification.
Pam was a loving and caring woman who showered those she loved with affection. She was happiest while taking care of others and was ultimately proud of her children. Family was the most important thing to Pam, and she took great pride in how close and loving her family is. She will be deeply missed.
Pam was a strong woman who overcame and managed many obstacles in her life. She had an amazing smile and deep love for her children and family.
She was a passionate photographer who loved to capture nature's beauty. She spent many hours at Winter Island in Salem catching images of nature landscapes to share with family and friends.
Pam is survived by her children, Alyssa M. MacMillan of Peabody, Michael B. MacMillan of Salem and Andrew M. MacMillan of Peabody; her parents, Catherine Shidler of Salem and J. Lou Shidler of Peabody; her siblings, Karen Costello and her husband, Drew of Salem and Greg Shidler and his wife, Kathleen of Peabody; her nieces, Kaitlyn Cordaro of Plaistow, N.H., and Devon Costello of Salem; her nephews, Leo Shidler of Bellingham and Greg Shidler, Jr. of Peabody; and her companion, Mike Castonguay of Salem.
Her funeral service will be held in the Center Church, 24 Washington St., Peabody, Thursday, March 2, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours in The O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common), Salem, Wednesday, March 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Pam’s memory to the High Point Treatment Center, WATC, 108 North Front St., New Bedford, MA.
