P. Brian's Story
P. Brian Flynn, 79, husband of Theresa L. (Blais) Flynn, died Saturday, March 11, 2017, in his home in Ipswich surrounded by his family after a long illness. Born in Ipswich on June 29, 1937, he was the son of the late Thomas J. Jr. and Helen G. (Sullivan) Flynn.
Raised in Ipswich, he was a graduate of St. John’s Prep in Danvers, Class of 1955. Mr. Flynn proudly served in the United States Navy for 4 ½ years, from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1960. He was employed at Sylvania in Danvers for over 30 years. He enjoyed golf, bowling and dancing.
Mr. Flynn is survived by, in addition to his wife, Theresa of Ipswich, his four children, Jennifer Tanzella of Beverly, Terence Flynn of Venice, Fla., Brianna Nordengren and her husband, Jeff of Bradford and Caitlin Flynn of Ipswich. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Brittany, Nicholas and Mia, Isobel and Winnie and Liam; and his one great-grandson, Jordan. Mr. Flynn is survived by his two brothers, Peter Flynn and his wife, Suchitra, and Thomas Flynn, all of Venice, Fla.; his sister, Alicia Rice and her husband, Allan of Ipswich; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 17, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 54 Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Military honors will be conducted at the end of Mass in Church. There will be no burial at this time. There also will be no visiting hours. Memorial contributions in Mr. Flynn’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-1804.
