Nicholas W. "Nick"'s Story
Mr. Nicholas W. Eichel, 36, of Salem, beloved husband of Sandra M. (Trufant) Eichel, passed away Thursday May 4, 2017 at North Shore Medical Center Salem Hospital.
Born in Melrose he was the son of Therese Golden and William H. Eichel. He was raised and educated in Peabody. In addition to his loving wife Sandra and his parents, Nick is survived by his three daughters, Makenzie Eichel, Madyson Eichel and Mya Eichel; his sister, Heather Amodeo and her husband, Christopher, his nieces and nephews, Isabelle, Jacob and Lucas Amodeo and Jacoby and Nathaniel Trufant as well as his in laws, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom he loved and who will all miss him dearly.
Nick was well-known as a talented and hardworking Finish Carpenter, he was a true craftsman and was highly regarded and well respected in his field. He had great pride in the work he did.
A resident of Salem for many years, Nick had an outgoing, enthusiastic personality and infectious laugh that endeared him to many. Always the “biggest kid in the yard”, he loved being with his children and was truly a devoted father. His kind heart and playful demeanor had a positive impact on all who knew him. He had a special way of making people laugh in any situation. He was happiest while spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
His funeral will be held from The O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common) Salem on Wednesday, May 10th, at 9 a.m. followed by his funeral Mass in St. James Church, Federal St., Salem at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.
