Natalie DiPaolo passed quietly in her home in Brewster on February 9, 2017, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with cancer.
Natalie is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Arthur DiPaolo; her brothers, Domenic Velardi and John Velardi; her children, Daniel DiPaolo, Nancy and her husband, Dan Tsoutsouris, Debra and her husband, Kevin Doherty, Arthur and his wife, Silvia DiPaolo, and Michael DiPaolo; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She was born Natalie Loretta Velardi in Salem, Mass., on February 9, 1935, the daughter of Carmello and Nancy Velardi and sibling to Esther and Carmello Velardi. She lived on the North Shore for 55 years before moving to Brewster. She was a proud Italian-American, a passionate cook, rug-hooker, artist, member of the Garden Club, and a Boston sports fan.
Natalie's kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Natalie may be made to VNA of Cape Cod Hospice and Palliative Care, 434 Route 134, Suite D3, South Dennis, MA 02660. A funeral Mass will be held at 12 p.m. on March 4, 2017, at St. John's the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch St., Beverly, MA 01915.
