Mary Elizabeth's Story
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (McNaughton) Brennan of West Peabody passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a brief illness. She was the wife of Hubert P. Brennan, with whom she shared a long, loving marriage. She was also a beloved mother. She was raised in Saugus, the daughter of the late Richard and Mary Hazel McNaughton. She was a longtime resident of West Peabody.
Mary will be remembered for her “perpetual smile,” her great sense of humor, and her love for her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her six children, Mary Brennan of New York City, Kathleen Brennan of Ipswich, Joan Mahoney and her husband, Mark of Swampscott, Maureen McGrath and her husband, James of Vancouver, British Columbia, John Brennan of Boston and Mark Brennan of Chicago, Ill.; as well as six grandchildren, Christopher, Colin and Hannah McGrath, Matthew and Megan Mahoney, and Michael Brennan.
Her visitation will be held on Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Solimine Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Route 1A), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Swampscott. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
