Mary Ann (Alhowik)'s Story
Mary Ann (Alhowik) Andrews, 74, wife of the late Alan F. Andrews, died Monday morning, April 3, 2017, in the Beverly Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Ipswich on October 31, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin W. Sr. and Mary H. (Kondracki) Alhowik. Mary Ann was raised and educated in Ipswich, she was a graduate of Ipswich High School Class of 1960. She formerly owned the ATL Corporation Ipswich with her husband, Alan, for several years. She was later employed at Johnny Appleseed in Beverly. She was predeceased by her husband on February 15, 2000. Mary Ann is survived by her brother and his wife, Benjamin, Jr. and Kathryn Alhowik of Hampton, N.H.; and her three nieces, Kimberly of Helena, Mont., Amybeth of Exeter, N.H., and Julie of Boulder, Colo. She is also survived by her seven grandnieces and grandnephews, David and Isabelle, Charlie, Amelia and Nolan, Reba and Lila. Mary Ann leaves behind many cherished relatives, as well as friends in Ipswich and Agawam Village. She will be missed for her sense of humor, generosity and selflessness.
A Celebration of Mary Ann’s life will be held at a future time and place to be determined, relatives and friends will be invited to attend and share memories of Mary Ann. There will be no visiting hours. Burial will be held privately in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery in Ipswich. Assisting the family is the Morris Funeral Home of Ipswich.
