Margaret A. (MacDonald)'s Story
Mrs. Margaret A. (MacDonald) Herlihy, 58, of Danvers, died peacefully Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Danvers surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Joan (Parker) MacDonald. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.
Mrs. Herlihy was a devoted care giver throughout the North Shore and had been associated with the Rainbow Nursing Home in Peabody for many years.
Married October 18, 1975 to the late Donald M. Herlihy, Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending her time at Salisbury Beach, Salem Willows and above all else treasured her time spent with family and friends. A deeply religious woman, she enjoyed her weekly bible study groups. She had a deep passion for sports, music and animals.
Margaret loved being surrounded by her family and friends. She had the ability to capture everyone’s heart with her infectious laugh and always had an exceptional story to tell. She was deeply loved and will be remembered for her devotion to her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Broda and her husband, Carl of Arizona, Joyce Williams and her husband, Scott of Atkinson, N.H., and Donna Viglas and her husband, George of Salem, her six grandchildren, her three great-grandchildren; her sisters, Pam L’Abbe and her husband, Ronald of Peabody, Jeane Benavides of Beverly and Anna MacDonald of Salem and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Her funeral services are private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers.
