June G.'s Story
June G. (Bauld) Silva of Topsfield passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield.
June was born in Medford on June 13, 1928, daughter of the late Harold and Gladys (Churchill) Bauld. Raised in Medford, she graduated from Medford High School in 1946. She raised her family in Lynnfield, and in 1997 she moved to Topsfield.
Following high school, she was employed as a bank teller at State Street Bank in Boston, leaving to raise her family. Later on, June returned to work as a real estate agent on the North Shore, until her retirement.
June was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family and enjoyed spending countless hours with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Unable to stay still, she then volunteered at the VNA Box Top Thrift Store, and as hobbies she enjoyed crossword puzzles and knitting.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Janet G. Grady of Vermont, Jacquelyn B. McCann of Salem, Jeffrey B. Silva of Middleton, Julie G. and Richard Goulter of So. Hamilton, Jennifer B. and Michael Reyes of Topsfield, Joanne G. and Matthew Clark of Boston, and Jill B. and James Thorpe of Boxford; 22 cherished grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Donna and David Marshall of Reading; and many nieces, nephews; and her best friend, Ethel Toomey of Peabody. She was predeceased by her brother, Harold Bauld; her former husband, Jackson B. Silva; and another best friend, Anne Simmons.
June’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, May 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 12 Park St., Topsfield. The family requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Masconomet Health Care, c/o Masconomet Resident Council Fund, 123 High St., Topsfield, MA 01983 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org/MANH.
