John R. "Brud"'s Story
Mr. John R. “Brud” Turcotte, 91, of Salem, beloved husband of Rita (Conwell) Turcotte, died Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Salem Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Telesphore and Bertha (Dupuis) Turcotte. He was raised and educated in Salem.
Mr. Turcotte had been employed as a trailer truck driver with Cott’s Beverage Distributor for many years. He had also been employed with the Parker Brother games of Salem as a custodian for many years.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Brud enjoyed summering at his family camp in Connecticut. He enjoyed visits to the casino and games of chance and loved to watch television. He was devoted to his family and will be deeply missed.
Brud is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Rita (Conwell) Turcotte of Salem; his children, Robert Turcotte of Beverly, Patricia Quadros and her husband, Robert of Salem, Kenneth Turcotte and his wife, Gayle of Salem and Ray “Tippy” Turcotte and his wife, Donna of Hudson, N.H., his five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his sister, Rita O’Day of Salem and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Jane Ellen Turcotte and brother of the late Bertha Jalbert and Henry, Joseph and Robert Turcotte.
His funeral services are private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is The O’Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (At Salem Common) Salem.
