John "Jack"'s Story
John A. “Jack” Sahovey, Jr., 73, died Monday, April 10, 2017, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Patricia “Pat” (Mercer) Sahovey.
Born in Salem on January 2, 1944, he was the son of the late John A. Sahovey, Sr. and Margaret L. (Cobb) Sahovey. He resided in Salem for many years before moving to Danvers 46 years ago.
Jack was employed as a printer at Parker Bros. in Salem for 25 years, before his retirement in 1993. He also worked at Analogic and Beverly Hospital for several years. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Newfoundland, and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, he is survived by two sisters, Geri Mullins and Nancy Reardon and her husband, Kevin; sister-in-law, Ida McCormack; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Mercer and his wife, Yasuko and David Mercer and his wife, Jean; his dog, “Lacy”; and many nieces and nephews, including Jennifer Berman, Samantha Marhula, Lynne French, Clay McCormack and Robert Babcock. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Peter and Richard Sahovey.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday in the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Funeral services will be privately held in the North Beverly Cemetery.
