John B.'s Story
John B. Rogers, Jr., 71, husband of Janis (Pappas) Rogers of High Street, died in the Blueberry Hill Rehab & Healthcare Center, Beverly following a brief illness.
Born in Hanover, N.H., the son of the late John B. and Kathleen (Morgan) Rogers, John was raised in Danvers and later resided in Ipswich. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Texas and was later transferred to U.S.A.R stationed in Missouri. He played the trombone in the Army band.
He was employed for many years as a United States Postal Worker in the town of Topsfield. Upon his retirement, he worked part-time for James S. Price, Inc. in Ipswich. He loved music and had a passion for golf. He was well known around town.
In addition to his wife, Janis, he is survived by a sister, Jean James of New Hampshire; three stepsons, Donald Cassie, Jr. of Beverly, Stephen Cassie of Georgetown, Dwayne Cassie of Ipswich; and a stepdaughter, Lisa Rosier of Ohio.
His funeral service with Military Honors will be held Friday, March 17, at 10 a.m., graveside in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Town Farm Rd., Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed.
