Janice I.'s Story
Janice I. (Dowrey) Goodwin, age 83 years, of Beverly, passed away Monday morning, February 6, 2017, at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading. She was born in Lowell, dear daughter of the late Thomas and Hazel (Butterfield) Dowrey.
Mrs. Goodwin was employed as a social worker for the former Danvers State Hospital prior to working for the Greater Lawrence Day Treatment for Adults for many years.
Janice was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. She also loved spending time with her family.
Surviving her are two sons, Steven Goodwin and his wife, Gay of Northampton and Scott Goodwin and his wife, Dawn of Beverly; one daughter, Suzzanne Daneau of Beverly; five grandchildren, Coreen Roberts, Jennifer Capozzi, Sean Goodwin, Mary Goodwin and Laurie Simmons; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Durant, Arianna Roberts, Sophia Capozzi and Harrison Capozzi. She was also the sister of the late Joan and Marilyn.
Janice’s memorial service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Monday, February 20, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be held privately. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Avenue, Salem, MA 01970.
