Janet M. (Gerrish)'s Story
Janet M. (Gerrish) Terrell, 94, of Northwood, N.H., formerly of Salem, Mass., passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, in the company of her family. She was the wife of the late David Terrell.
Born in Salem, Mass., Janet was the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Alexina (Dionne) Gerrish. After graduating from Salem schools, Janet joined the U.S. Army during World War II and served as a Medical Technician for seven years at several army posts. She was Honorably Discharged as a Corporal.
Janet is survived by her two daughters, Lynn Strickland (Wayne) of Savannah, Ga., Shirley Tudor (Paul) of Northwood, N.H.; her grandchildren, David Strickland, Jody Rogers, Deirdre Doucette, Travis and Spencer Hardwick; great-grandchildren, Bryson Doucette, Ray Screen, Tyler Strickland, Andrew and Shae Rogers; a sister, Shirley Gill of Peabody; nieces and nephews. Janet was the sister of the late Gus, Charles, Julia and Rita Gerrish and Mary Abcunas.
Visiting hours are Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St., Salem, MA. A memorial service will also be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Burial will be private.
