James P.'s Story
James P. Flynn, 72, formerly of Beverly, passed away after a brief illness on February 21, 2017.
Jim was born in Everett, Mass. to James and Catherine Flynn on August 22, 1944.
He went to the Malden public schools and graduated from Malden High School, Class of 1964.
He married Elaine (Weitzman) on February 9, 1969.
Jim was a talented artist and spent a great deal of time perfecting his painting and drawing techniques. He enjoyed his and Elaine’s yearly trips to the New England area, which always felt like home even after several years of living in Florida. He loved visiting and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Lila, who always made him laugh with her hilarious and sweet antics.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James M. Flynn and Catherine J. (McGullam) Flynn.
Jim is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Elaine. They shared many adventures over the years and she misses him greatly. He also leaves behind two daughters, Jennifer Jarvinen and her husband, Kenneth of Danvers, and Catherine Garrett and her husband, Carl of Beverly. He also leaves three siblings, Robert and his wife, Pamela, Thomas and his wife, Karen, and Kathleen. In addition to his granddaughter, Lila, he also leaves a grandson, Samuel; his mother-in-law, Laura (Keels) Weitzman; many nieces and nephews; as well as several extended family members.
The family of Jim wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Tidewell Hospice of Englewood, Fla. who made his last days at home as respectful and comfortable as possible.
A private memorial was held in Florida.
