Jacquelyn "Jackie"'s Story
Jacquelyn “Jackie” Frederiksen, age 87, passed away in the early morning hours of December 20, 2016, in her home. Daughter of the late James Stoddard and Elizabeth (Houghtaling) Stoddard Comeau and wife of the late Jacob Frederiksen, she was born in Buffalo, N.Y. At a young age she spent her summers with her grandparents in Penn Yan, N.Y., which is where she met her future husband, Jacob. They married in October of 1946. Phyllis and Jacob raised their family of nine children in Peabody, Mass., Chevy Chase, Md., and finally ended up in Salem, Mass., where she lived until her passing.
Jackie loved music, especially piano, and played the organ in church before she was married. She was a member of the Cheerful Workers, the Salem Athenaeum and Hamilton Hall.
Jackie is survived by her son, Andrew Frederiksen and his wife, Lucy; her daughter, Mary Linda Antoniello and her husband, Mathew; her daughter, Elizabeth Haven and her husband, Jeffrey; her son, Thomas Frederiksen and his wife, Patricia; her son, Charles Frederiksen and his wife, Debra; her daughter, Ellen Nepustil and her husband, Vladimir; her daughter, Ella Brown and her husband, Howard; her son, Christian Frederiksen and his wife, Andreea; as well as her 23 grandchildren and her nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jacob who passed in 1982, and her son, John.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at the Grace Episcopal Church, 385 Essex St., Salem, at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
